The Civil Society Academy MENA 2025 was hosted at Tilal Utique from October 14th to 17th, 2025, marking a pivotal convergence of civil society leadership from across the Mediterranean region. This capacity-building program was organized by the Candid Foundation, in cooperation with the Anna Lindh Foundation, and generously funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
The Academy gathered a diverse cohort of civil society leaders from MENA countries and Europe with the core mission of strengthening organizational resilience and fostering meaningful cross-border collaboration. In the distinctive and reflective environment of Tilal Utique, participants engaged in an intensive series of interactive workshops and expert-led sessions designed to address pressing regional and global challenges.
Over four immersive days, the curriculum explored critical themes including geopolitics, conflict transformation, strategic advocacy, digital transformation, and gender-inclusive leadership. The program was carefully structured to move beyond theoretical discussion, providing practical tools and frameworks for sustainable organizational development. More than a training, the Academy served as a dynamic platform for building lasting professional partnerships and trust-based networks across the Mediterranean, equipping participants to lead with greater impact and solidarity in their communities and beyond.
