Singer
Azal (أ زل) is an original music project born from the desire to explore the voice in its most organic, fragile, and intimate dimension: breath. Led by singer and composer Mariem Labidi, this sonic concept examines the symbolic and emotional power of breath in the Sufi tradition, with the aim of reinterpreting and reinventing it through a contemporary approach.
Alongside her, Bahia El Bacha (cello and voice), Mohamed Ben Salha (ney flute), and Steven Fougères (guitar) bring their instruments to life, transforming these ancient verses into music that is deeply rooted in the present and profoundly moving.
Together, the four artists create an original repertoire at the crossroads of improvisation, poetry, and spirituality.
