Chaker Kalai

Chaker Kalai is a visual artist, filmmaker, and animation trainer based in Tunis. Specializing in stop motion and 2D animation, he explores the relationship between image, material, and poetic storytelling. A recipient of several national and international awards, he has been leading creative workshops for years in Tunisia and abroad, working with children, teenagers, art students, and adults. His approach emphasizes experimentation, sensory awareness, and collective creation. His films, often made with simple materials (paper, natural objects, drawing), combine handcrafted gestures with immersive sound design to create hybrid, sensitive, and socially engaged visual narratives.
