Guest Artists - December 2025 Residency
In December 2025, Tilal Utique becomes a sanctuary for creation, welcoming six multidisciplinary artists from distant horizons for two weeks, brought together by the suspended time of the residency.

Basma Baazaoui is a Tunisian artist working across performance, contemporary dance, and visual storytelling. She was trained in theatre and acting, earned a degree in performing arts, and a Master’s in English Literature, which shaped the narrative sensitivity that runs through all her projects. Her practice explores the body as an earth archive: a site where ecological pressure, memory, violence, and resilience accumulate and speak. She is interested in how everyday gestures carry histories, and how bodies rendered marginal can become sites of knowledge and resistance. Her trajectory is one of crossings; between acting and performance, literature and embodiment, stage and screen. She explores opacity, disappearance, slowness, and the politics of visibility: how we reveal and conceal ourselves in times of instability and crisis.
